The Red Cross says at first they were hesitant to send their volunteers down to Puerto Rico with the risk of Hurricane Jose moving up the Northeast coast.
Now they say they will be sending crews down within the next few weeks and they’re always looking for volunteers.
Joy Bonefed, who is with the Red Cross, says after seeing the images of the destruction left behind, there will be many challenges for the volunteers.
“Its going to be so hot without any kind of air conditioning without any kind of power that was of the things I experienced in Houston, running water is probably not safe to drink right now so if you don’t have access to bottled water you might not have shower access even,” said Bonefed.
